In many ways White Whale began in Guatemala while founder Jack Grey volunteered in gang prisons, helping to design cover-up tattoos for young men and women who wanted to change their lives. Now the White Whale crew returns often to strengthen relations with indigenous leaders and continue this life-saving work.

Our mission.

We empower individuals by providing necessary tools for personal transformation and self-actualization, while developing relationships across racial, cultural, geographical and other divides, to promote transformation in our communities.

A portion of the proceeds of each tattoo done at White Whale helps to fuel this mission.

Our work aims to empower indigenous leaders who are changing their communities, including in the basurero and La Limonada communities of Guatemala. We dream big with our friends in Guatemala about the restoration of this beautiful country, and we feel personally on the hook because of the atrocities inflicted on Guatemala and other Latin American countries at the hands of North America in recent history.

This mission is part of the fabric of White Whale locally, in Guatemala, and beyond.
